What is Event-Driven Architecture?

Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) is a software design paradigm that promotes the production, detection, consumption of, and reaction to an event. 

Events are  any “significant change in state” for hardware or software systems. Sources of an event can be from internal or external inputs, or triggers.
